Final Fantasy 40: Red Flag Bar Presents Music from Square Soft's "Final Fantasy VIII" Videogame Performed Live by Amoree Lovell, Ali Ippolito and Musical Guests
Portland, Oregon - 11/05/2010 - Amoree Lovell is turning 40 and celebrating with a live musical tribute to the popular video game "Final Fantasy VIII" at Red Flag Bar, 344 NE 28th & Flanders on Sunday, November 21st, starting between 8 and 9pm and free to anyone 21 and over. Costumes encouraged!
Sqaure Soft's "Final Fantasy VIII" is widely considered one of the best video games of the past 15 years. And the music composed by Nobuo Uematsu is regularly performed by such institutions as the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. His "Eyes on me" single won "song of the year" in the 14th annual Japan Gold Disk Awards. Final Fantasy VIII was groundbreaking in that it was the first video game to feature live vocals in it's soundtrack. Even Schnitzer Hall featured a show with Legend of Zelda Music recently. The American synchronized swimming duo took home the Bronze in 2004 performing to Final Fantasy VIII music. Ms. Lovell, who has been notating these songs since August intends to give an equally medal winning performance.
In the spirit of the MiniBosses, Amoree Lovell along with musical guests are recreating 2 hours of live music for like minded video game junkies on Sunday, November 21st between 8 and 9pm at Red Flag Bar on 344 NE 28th, just five block north of the Laurelhurst Theater.
Amoree Lovell has been making music in Portland for over a decade, has recorded two solo albums and is currently working on a third. She has been the musical heart of three Grand Guignol productions (with Dylan Hillerman http://www.wix.com/dylzone/grandguignolpdx ) and won the 48-Hour Film Festival Best Soundtrack Award in 2009.
